sanding on these

The cast aluminum took on a good
brilliance...
...despite the numerous pinholes.  In this case further sanding was just exposing more pores.  
The pores also make it difficult to remove sanding scratches.  Still, the overall effect was
acceptable

On the other hand,
this Cobra cover
had no pores...it
too bagan life with
a rough cast finish
- but not any more!
